From Loadup to
StandDown
Lock and load came the cry
and into the night we did fly
The tracers lit up the night
as we approached the firefight
The bodies were scattered all around
as the morning light touched the ground
The screams of pain still fill my ears
even tho its been twenty years
The tents they stood just as before
but this time there was no war
All the people that were there
opened their hearts and show they cared
They all vowed to help
without a gun or ammo belt
Instead of weapons made for war
they gave us tools to open doors
The tools they gave could save our lives
should we choose to use them wise
They called it a StandDown the
likes of which I never knew
May god bless each and everyone of you
